For industries, wastewater is the byproduct of different processes, An industrial effluent treatment plant is a system for purifying and recycling wastewater. Failing to treat wastewater can lead to various health hazards, Environmental hazard,s and Ecological damage and can come under the scrutiny of governing bodies. Different industries release various types of effluents. To eliminate different toxic from industrial wastewater, specialized WWTPs are required, known as effluent treatment plants. So, how do you choose the right industrial effluent treatment plant? In this blog, we aim to help you pick a suitable ETP plant for your industrial process.
What is an Industrial Effluent Treatment Plant?
An effluent treatment plant (ETP) is a specialized treatment facility that treats and purifies industrial wastewater before discharging it back into the water bodies or environment. ETP plants use various treatment processes, such as physical, chemical, and biological, to remove impurities and contaminants and ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines while reducing their impact on the ecosystem. Ravi Enviro Industries Private Limited is the best ETP plant manufacturer in India. We have 10+ years of experience in custom designing and manufacturing wastewater treatment plants. We can guide you through the steps to choose the best solution for your WWTP needs.

Types of Effluent Treatment Plants
There are various ETP water treatment plants that are designed to cater to specific requirements and effluent characteristics.
1. Physical Treatment Systems: These types of systems are based on physical processes like flocculation, sedimentation and flotation to eliminate solid particles from the wastewater.
2. Chemical Treatment Systems: In this system, chemicals like flocculants and coagulants are used to separate suspended particles from wastewater via chemical reactions and precipitation.
3. Biological Treatment Systems: These systems use microorganisms to break down the organic matter in wastewater through biological systems like Extended Aeration system , Mixed bed membrane bio reactor, Membrane Bioreactor and anaerobic process for food and pharmaceutical industries..
4. Advanced Treatment Systems: This industrial effluent treatment plant uses different processes, such as chemical, physical, and biological, for the removal of heavy metals, toxins, and dissolved contaminants.
5. Zero Liquid Discharge Plants: The ZLD plants remove liquid discharge by recycling the waste treated back into the industrial process or evaporating it to ensure zero liquid waste.
Different Stages of Effluent Treatment in ETPs
1. Effluent Collection System: Wastewater from the industrial unit is released into the ETP. In this stage, all effluent is collected and mixed in this tank to have a proper homogeneous mixing of all effluent. This will provide a constant load in the ETP.
2. Neutralising System: This will be used to neutralise the effluent with the help of Acid and Alkali dosing. pH meter is provided to control/adjust the pH in the Neutralization Tank.
3. Flash Mixer/ Flocculator: The neutralised effluent is given a coagulant and flocculation process where the Coagulant and Flocculant are dosed for removal of suspended solid.
4. Settling Tank / Primary Clarifier: In the tank, effluent is separated from the water. As the particles settle in the bottom of the unit and further dewatered in the Centrifuge.
5. Biological System: After primary treatment effluent transfer to the Biological process. The selection of Biological process is depend on the type of industry and end use of the treated effluent.
6. Tertiary Treatment: The selection of tertiary treatment is depend on the type of industry and end use of effluent.
Conclusion:
Choosing the right effluent treatment plant is a crucial process for selection of various WWTP technologies. With a comprehensive range of ETPS available in the market, it is important to take into consideration your requirements. Consider aspects like type and volume of wastewater generation; this allows you to determine the size of the ETP plant you need for your industrial facility.
